Fishing
for
Brookies

by Alexander Martins, IV

Fishing for brookies is a lot of fun.  It is a lot different than Striper fishing.  We went up to my friend Jeff's camp in the wilderness. We went fishing for brookies in the morning, evening, afternoon and night time.   I used worms and grass hopper flies that were different sizes.

I caught over three dozen brookies.  We released the ones that were not over six inches.  They have to be over 6" to keep them. Brookies do not fight that good.

We had to sleep in a cabin in the middle of the woods.  There were bunk beds.  My dad slept on the bottom bunk.  I slept on the top bunk.  It was a lot of fun doing that.

It was fun having to cook on the campfire.

You might want to be prepared for moose flies if you go up to the wilderness.

It was like the old fashion days.
